As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will join a rapidly expanding Product Engineering team responsible for managing and enhancing a complex system of over 100 microservices, primarily coded in Scala and Java.
The microservices communicate synchronously via gRPC, handle asynchronous calls through Kafka, and expose GraphQL to the frontend while utilizing databases such as PostgreSQL, Mongo, ElasticSearch, and Redis.
The engineering culture emphasizes the impact of work on users, encouraging engineers to contribute to both code and strategic decisions that shape the product.
You will have the autonomy to influence architecture decisions and propose enhancements to engineering practices.
Daily routines include regular planning sessions, standups, code reviews, and collaboration with fellow engineers, with a focus on efficiency and adaptability to changing needs.

Requirements:

You must possess excellent coding skills and a passion for growing your expertise.
Strong experience with JVM languages is required.
You should have excellent knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Strong communication skills are necessary to explain complex technical issues in simple business terms.
Excellent system design skills are needed to choose appropriate technologies and architectures.
Experience with distributed systems is essential.
You should demonstrate product acumen, ownership, and a focus on delivering value to customers.
Proficiency in both English and Polish (spoken and written) is required.
