Remote Senior Backend Engineer - Mimir Query (Remote, Canada)

Description:

• The Senior Backend Engineer position is for the Mimir Query squad at Grafana Cloud, a remote position in Canada.
• The role involves optimizing the customer experience and resilience of Mimir, a telemetry database, by focusing on fast queries and handling various query workloads.
• Responsibilities include influencing the roadmap, delivering new features, driving projects from ideation to operations, contributing to open-source projects, designing and maintaining critical systems, participating in on-call rotations, mentoring team members, and learning new skills.
• The tech stack consists of services written in Go, running on Kubernetes clusters leveraging Cloud object storage.

Requirements:

• Motivated self-starter with a bias towards action and customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to tackle complex challenges, collaborate effectively in a remote setup, and communicate well.
• Solid experience in at least one programming language (preferably Go, but familiarity with Python, C, C++, Rust is acceptable).
• Experience in delivering projects from requirements gathering to product shipping, either in the Cloud or systems engineering domain.
• Proficiency in writing clean, robust, and performant software.

Benefits:

• Base compensation range in Canada for this role is CAD 165,000 - CAD 199,000, with actual compensation varying based on level, experience, and skillset.
