Remote Senior Backend Engineer - Mimir Query (Remote, US)

Description:

• The Senior Backend Engineer position is for the Mimir Query squad within Grafana Cloud, a composable observability platform integrating metrics, logs, traces, and profiles with Grafana.
• The role involves optimizing the customer experience and resilience of Mimir, a telemetry database, by focusing on fast queries and handling various query workloads.
• Responsibilities include influencing the roadmap, delivering new features, driving projects from ideation to operations, contributing to open-source projects, designing, building, operating, and maintaining critical systems, participating in on-call rotations, mentoring team members, and learning new skills.
• The tech stack consists of services written in Go, running on Kubernetes clusters leveraging Cloud object storage.

Requirements:

• Motivated self-starter with a bias towards action and customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to tackle complex challenges, collaborate effectively in a remote setup, and communicate well with teammates.
• Solid experience in at least one programming language (preferably Go, but familiarity with Python, C, C++, Rust is acceptable).
• Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering to product shipping in a self-driven manner.
• Some experience with Cloud software development or systems engineering.
• Proficiency in writing clean, robust, and performant software.
