Remote Senior Backend Engineer - Mimir (Remote, Germany)

Description:

• The Senior Backend Engineer position at Mimir in Grafana Cloud involves working with the Databases team to own and operate telemetry databases like Mimir, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope.
• The role includes optimizing the efficiency and resilience of processing, storing, and querying metrics at large volumes.
• Responsibilities also involve participating in on-call rotations, writing and reviewing PRs, and collaborating with team members.
• The engineer will be involved in projects from initial ideation to operations, contributing to open-source projects, and mentoring team members.
• The tech stack primarily consists of services written in Go, running on Kubernetes clusters leveraging Cloud object storage.

Requirements:

• Motivated self-starter with a bias towards action and customer focus.
• Ability to break down complex challenges, analyze, design, and build modular solutions.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for working in a fully remote setup.
• Solid experience with at least one programming language, preferably Go, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
• Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering to product shipping in a self-driven manner.
• Familiarity with Cloud software development or systems engineering.
• Proficiency in writing clean, robust, and performant software.
