• We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing Engineering team at Customer.io.
• The role involves writing well-architected, well-tested, and easy-to-understand services in Go to help customers send timely and relevant messages at scale.
• You will apply your unique perspective to define and build the next generation of features and infrastructure.
• The position requires working with tech support teams to diagnose operational issues and assist customers in achieving their goals.
• You will take an active role in a friendly, supportive team that encourages personal and professional growth.
• Mentoring coworkers through code review, pair programming, team collaboration, and training is also a key responsibility.

Requirements:

• Candidates must work in North/South American time zones.
• A minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience is preferred.
• A proven track record of delivering performant and scalable distributed applications on cloud infrastructure using Golang is required.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential for making empathetic and respectful decisions.
• Experience working with customers and understanding their needs to provide timely solutions is necessary.
• A solid understanding of scalability problems and experience in building performant distributed applications on cloud infrastructure is required.
• Comfort in UNIX environments and familiarity with modern collaborative development practices is expected.
• Experience with RDB systems, preferably MySQL, is necessary.
• The ability to deliver high-quality solutions quickly and without mentorship is required.
• Experience working within a distributed company is preferred.
