Remote Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js/AWS/K8s) - Infra Engineering

Description:

• Deel is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Infra Engineering team, which supports engineering growth and builds a platform for product teams.
• The role involves participating in product planning from discovery to deployment, ensuring input at all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Collaboration is key, as the team works together to develop robust new features, APIs, and continuously improve products while addressing any bugs.
• The Infra Engineering team focuses on enforcing standards and best practices, creating tooling, maintaining internal libraries, providing architectural guidance, and owning high-loaded core services.
• The position is a mix of 70% engineering and 30% DevOps, offering freedom with responsibility.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Node.js is required.
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms is necessary.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker is essential.
• Familiarity with Postgres/MySQL and messaging systems like RabbitMQ/NATS/Kafka is needed.
• Strong system design and problem-solving skills are crucial, as the role often involves dealing with unknown challenges.
• Excellent communication skills are required to orchestrate projects with over 20 teams.
• Candidates should be hands-on troubleshooters and ready to face challenges.
• Extra brownie points for experience in building internal tooling such as npm packages or frameworks.
