Description:
Deel is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Infra Engineering team, which supports engineering growth and builds a platform for product teams.
The role involves participating in product planning from discovery to deployment, ensuring input at all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
Collaboration is key, as the engineer will work with teams to develop new features, APIs, and improve existing products while addressing any bugs.
The Infra Engineering team focuses on enforcing standards and best practices, creating tooling, maintaining internal libraries, providing architectural guidance, and owning high-loaded core services.
The position is a mix of 70% engineering and 30% DevOps, requiring both freedom and responsibility.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in engineering.
Strong knowledge of Node.js is required.
Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms is necessary.
Knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker is essential.
Familiarity with Postgres/MySQL and messaging systems like RabbitMQ/NATS/Kafka is needed.
Strong system design and problem-solving skills are crucial, as the role often involves dealing with unknown challenges.
Excellent communication skills are required to orchestrate projects with over 20 teams.
Candidates should be hands-on troubleshooters and ready to face challenges.
Extra brownie points for experience in building internal tooling such as npm packages or frameworks.
