Remote Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js/AWS/K8s) - Infra Engineering (EMEA)

Description:

• Deel is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Infra Engineering team in a full-time capacity.
• The role involves participating in product planning from discovery to deployment, contributing input at all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust new features and APIs, continuously improve products, and address any bugs efficiently.
• The Infra Engineering team supports Deel's engineering growth by building a platform for product teams to deliver business value faster.
• The team operates with a focus on engineering (70%) and DevOps (30%), enforcing standards, creating tooling, maintaining internal libraries, and providing architectural guidance.
• The position requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and responding to production incidents as needed.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Node.js is required.
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms is necessary.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker is essential.
• Familiarity with Postgres/MySQL and messaging systems like RabbitMQ/NATS/Kafka is required.
• Strong system design and problem-solving skills are necessary, as the role often involves dealing with unknown challenges.
• Excellent communication skills are essential for orchestrating projects with over 20 teams.
• Candidates should be hands-on troubleshooters and ready to face challenges.
• Extra consideration will be given to those with experience in building internal tooling, such as npm packages and frameworks.
