Description:
Deel is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating worldwide hiring for businesses.
The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QAβs to develop new features, APIs, and enhance existing products.
Responsibilities include participating in product planning from discovery to deployment, ensuring a white-glove experience for customers, and contributing to the continuous improvement of industry-leading products.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, NoSQL (especially PostgreSQL and ORM libraries like Sequelize), AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS), and serverless app architecture on AWS.
With at least 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer, the candidate should be able to provide advice on best practices and be a thought leader in the field.
The role requires designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications, thriving in a collaborative remote-first work culture, embracing independence, and taking ownership of projects.
Effective communication, problem-solving skills, a business-focused approach to software development, and a commitment to delivering high-value outcomes for clients are essential.
Extra brownie points for experience with SaaS products on major cloud vendors, working in distributed teams, and knowledge of FinTech.
Requirements:
Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript syntax.
Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL (especially PostgreSQL and ORM libraries like Sequelize), AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS), and serverless app architecture on AWS.
Minimum 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
Ability to advise on best practices and be a thought leader in the field.
Experience in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications using the specified technologies.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, remote-first work culture and contribute effectively to team projects.
