Description:

  • Deel is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating worldwide hiring for businesses.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA’s to contribute to product planning, development, and deployment stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Responsibilities include developing new features, API’s, improving products, and ensuring a top-notch customer experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, expert knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript syntax, SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, ORM libraries like Sequelize, and AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS).
  • Desired qualities include excelling in application design, coding, testing, embracing a remote-first work culture, taking ownership of projects, effective communication, customer problem-solving, business-focused software development, and embodying core values.
  • Additional brownie points for experience with SaaS products, serverless app architecture on AWS, TypeScript, distributed teams, remote work environments, and FinTech knowledge.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript syntax.
  • Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, and ORM libraries like Sequelize.
  • Familiarity with AWS Services such as S3, EKS, SNS, and SQS.
  • Ability to excel in collaborative, remote-first work culture.
  • Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Business-focused approach to software development.
  • Deep understanding and addressing of customer impact.
