Description:
Deel is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating worldwide hiring for businesses.
The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA’s to contribute to product planning, development, and deployment stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
Responsibilities include developing new features, API’s, improving products, and ensuring a top-notch customer experience.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, NoSQL (especially PostgreSQL and ORM libraries like Sequelize), AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS), and serverless app architecture on AWS.
With a minimum of 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer, the candidate should be able to provide guidance on best practices and be a thought leader in the field.
The role requires designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications, thriving in a collaborative remote-first work culture, embracing independence, and taking ownership of projects.
Effective communication, problem-solving skills, a business-focused approach to software development, and a commitment to delivering high-value outcomes for clients are essential.
Additional brownie points for experience with SaaS products on major cloud vendors, working in distributed teams, and knowledge of FinTech.
Requirements:
Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript syntax.
Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL (especially PostgreSQL and ORM libraries like Sequelize), AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS), and serverless app architecture on AWS.
Minimum 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
Ability to advise on best practices and be a thought leader in the field.
Experience in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications using the specified technologies.
Ability to excel in a collaborative, remote-first work culture and contribute effectively in a team setting.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
