Description:

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong experience in real-time data ingestion and distributed systems.
In this role, you will design, build, and optimize real-time analytics infrastructure, leveraging cutting-edge tools and modern cloud environments to power fraud detection systems at scale.
You will join a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your decisions and code directly impact product performance and customer outcomes.
Responsibilities include designing and developing scalable, high-performance real-time data ingestion pipelines, building and maintaining infrastructure supporting real-time analytics and fraud detection, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to evaluate and implement new technologies.
You will deliver efficient, clean, and elegant code for high-throughput systems and develop new features that detect complex and evolving fraud patterns in real time.
Additionally, you will contribute to infrastructure-as-code initiatives and CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements:

You must have 6+ years of professional backend development experience.
Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or Rust is required.
Experience with real-time data pipeline technologies such as Apache Pinot, Apache Druid, Apache Flink, or ClickHouse is essential.
A deep understanding of distributed systems and how to build and scale them is necessary.
Hands-on experience with AWS and Terraform is required.
Proven experience developing and optimizing APIs and end-to-end data flows is essential.
A solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and source control, is required.
An advanced academic background (BS/MS/Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field is desired.
Exposure to real-time fraud detection or similar high-sensitivity systems is preferred.
Familiarity with additional cloud platforms or infrastructure automation tools is a nice-to-have.
An interest or background in data science or analytics is also a plus.
Strong soft skills such as a sense of ownership, curiosity, humility, collaborative spirit, eagerness to learn, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments are important.
