Description:
Puzzle is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their remote team in Latin America.
The role involves working with the existing engineering team to contribute to the direction of the project and team.
The primary focus will be on migrating a complex backend code from Python to Golang, with an estimated two years of work on this project.
The engineer will analyze technical problems, performance issues, and assist with legacy migrations as necessary.
Responsibilities include understanding and troubleshooting data-intensive systems, system design with a focus on latency and scalability, and development primarily in Python and Go.
The engineer will work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams to execute product and business strategies.
Effective communication within the team and across disciplines is essential.
Participation in product reviews and team meetings to provide technical insight is expected.
Requirements:
A strong understanding of system design, particularly regarding latency and scalability.
Proficiency in development with a focus on Python and Go, as well as experience with migrating endpoints from Python to Go.
Skills in testing, SOLID principles, and design patterns are required.
Experience with systems architecture, including Kubernetes, AWS, Postgres, and Redis.
Ability to work collaboratively with product managers and designers to create compelling user experiences.
Strong communication skills to effectively share insights and collaborate with team members.
Experience in scoping, estimating, and prioritizing tasks amidst conflicting needs.
