Remote Senior Backend Engineer, Subscription & Payments

Description:

• Webflow is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Subscriptions & Payments team, working on enhancing payment systems for enterprise-level and self-serve products.
• The role involves leading and executing strategic projects to augment and scale backend services, focusing on Subscriptions, Plan Management, and integration with Stripe.
• Responsibilities include working on low latency API for entitlement services, payment APIs, taxation/compliance systems, and expanding payment offerings.
• The position aims to build strong pricing and packaging foundations for Webflow to support product led growth (PLG) and enterprise business growth.
• The role is full-time, remote-first, and reports to the Senior Engineering Manager.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in scalable, multi-tenant environments.
• 2+ years of experience leading projects, including scoping and breakdown of work.
• Proficiency in Javascript/Typescript, MongoDB, and Node.
• Strong value for testing and documentation alongside code.
• Ability to work in ambiguous situations and collaborate effectively with teammates.
• Demonstrated communication of trade-offs to meet technical and business requirements.
• Enthusiasm for mentoring and developing other engineers.
