Description:

ClickUp is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help build their flagship product, Tasks.
The role involves owning the APIs that form the backbone of ClickUp, allowing for a significant impact on the product.
Responsibilities include building features and systems with a focus on detail and performance, owning end-to-end development from conception to production, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a world-class product.
The engineer will identify and implement improvements to existing systems and help establish a positive engineering culture.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience engineering performant and high-throughput systems, ideally using Node.js.
Proficiency in writing high-quality code, preferably in TypeScript, is essential.
A proven track record of building performant, high-throughput systems is necessary.
Experience in writing and debugging SQL queries at scale is required.
Candidates should have experience developing event-based systems and familiarity with major cloud services, ideally AWS.
Strong communication skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity while delivering projects with minimal direction are important.
A product-minded approach with a good intuition for user experience is also required.
