Remote Senior Backend Engineer, Vertical Experiences at Reddit

The Vertical Experiences team is part of the International Growth group, focusing on building experiences across various community topics to help users connect better with content on Reddit.
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will work on high-impact initiatives and features across all Reddit product surfaces.
You will own projects from ideation to production and collaborate with a cross-functional team to solve complex problems.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and shipping features for millions of users, communicating effectively within the team, participating in product reviews, contributing to the full development cycle, and mentoring other engineers.

You must have 6+ years of post-internship, full-time, hands-on, professional backend development experience with multiple parts of the backend stack.
You should be able to design and implement complex distributed systems that operate under high load with hundreds of thousands of concurrent users.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule are essential.
A passion for building new things and thriving in ambiguity and failure is necessary, along with a preference for experience developing consumer-facing public applications.
