Description:
Tide is building a finance and admin platform aimed at saving small businesses time and money, providing business accounts and related banking services along with administrative solutions.

The engineering team consists of over 40 teams working on a rich product catalogue across various business areas, with a focus on empowering engineers to make technical decisions.
The role involves contributing to an event-driven Microservice Architecture with over 200 services, defining and maintaining services, and using Java 17, Spring Boot, and JOOQ.
Responsibilities include exposing and consuming RESTful APIs, utilizing SNS, SQS, and Kafka for event handling, and using PostgreSQL via Aurora as the primary datastore.
Engineers are expected to deploy services to production frequently, supported by CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks.
The role requires collaboration with Product Owners to understand user needs and translate them into well-engineered solutions.
Requirements:
Candidates should have experience building server-side applications and a willingness to learn Java, as most services are written in this language.
A sound knowledge of a backend framework, such as Spring/Spring Boot, is required, particularly for writing microservices that expose and consume RESTful APIs.
Experience in engineering scalable and reliable solutions in a cloud-native environment is essential, with a focus on understanding CI/CD fundamentals.
Candidates must demonstrate a mindset of delivering secure, well-tested, and well-documented software that integrates with third-party providers and partners.
