Octopus by RTG is seeking a Senior Backend Java Spring Boot Developer for an immediate hire, working remotely.

The role involves working with a partner in Saudi Arabia that is transforming the insurance industry with innovative solutions.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality backend services and APIs using Java Spring Boot.
The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
The position requires optimizing applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Best practices for coding, security, and API design must be implemented.
The developer will work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or other relational and NoSQL databases.
Developing and maintaining a microservices architecture is essential.
The role includes ensuring robust testing (unit, integration, and performance) to improve software quality.
Troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving software defects and issues are part of the job.
Staying updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies is expected.
The developer will also mentor and guide junior developers in best practices and architecture decisions.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in backend development using Java.
Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Hibernate is required.
Experience with RESTful API design and development is necessary.
Proficiency in working with SQL and NoSQL databases is essential.
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines is required.
A solid understanding of Microservices architecture and Event-Driven Architecture is necessary.
Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
Familiarity with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in an Agile development environment are essential.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
