Description:
- As a Senior Software Engineer in the Release Engineering team at Sumo Logic, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated tooling for the release processes of all services.
- You will own the delivery pipeline and release automation framework for all Sumo services.
- Your role will involve collaborating with teams during design and development phases to ensure best practices are followed.
- Mentoring a team of Engineers (Junior to Senior) to improve software development processes.
- Providing technology and design recommendations to executives and writing detailed design documents and system implementation documentation.
- Enhancing and maintaining infrastructure and tooling for development, testing, and debugging.
- Ensuring engineering teams can deliver quality software quickly and reliably.
Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Sciences or related discipline.
- Ability to influence people towards making good architectural choices.
- Collaborative working style to make good decisions with other engineers.
- Bias towards action to drive progress and enable development.
- Flexibility to learn and adapt to new approaches.
- 4+ years of experience in release automation tooling, DevOps, CI/CD, etc.
- 4+ years of software development experience in Java/Scala/Golang or similar.
- Experience with software delivery technologies like Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and build tools.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS/Azure/GCP.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code and tools like Terraform.
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Groovy, Python, Bash, etc.
- Understanding of monitoring tools like Prometheus/Grafana and GitOps concepts.
- Familiarity with security and compliance aspects of DevSecOps.
