Remote Senior Backend Release Engineer

Description:

• Develop and maintain automated tooling for release processes of all services at Sumo Logic.
• Own the delivery pipeline and release automation framework for all Sumo services.
• Collaborate with teams during design and development phases to ensure best practices are followed.
• Mentor a team of Engineers and enhance software development processes.
• Evaluate, test, and provide technology and design recommendations to executives.
• Write detailed design documents and system implementation documentation.
• Enhance and maintain infrastructure and tooling for development, testing, and debugging.
• Contribute to establishing automated delivery pipelines for independently deployable services.

Requirements:

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Sciences or related discipline.
• Ability to influence people towards making good architectural choices.
• Collaborative working style and ability to make things happen.
• Flexibility to learn and adapt to new approaches.
• 3+ years of experience in release automation tooling, DevOps, CI/CD, etc.
• 2+ years of software development experience in Java/Scala/Golang or similar.
• Experience with software delivery technologies like Jenkins and build tools like make/gradle/npm.
• Proficiency in cloud technologies such as AWS/Azure/GCP and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Groovy, Python, Bash, and monitoring tools like Prometheus/Grafana.
• Understanding of GitOps, ArgoCD workflows, and security/compliance aspects of DevSecOps.
