Description:

Vanta is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer for their Core Platform team, focused on securing the internet and protecting consumer data.
The role involves leading and mentoring engineers while delivering high-value products and scalable infrastructure.
The product monitors the security posture of thousands of companies, processing tens of millions of API calls daily and running continuous tests to identify security threats.
Responsibilities include setting technical direction, driving complex projects, and mentoring the engineering team.
Engineers will design and develop new product functionality using modern frameworks and tools such as TypeScript, React, Node.js, MongoDB, and AWS services.
The Core Platform team aims to enhance developer productivity and core infrastructure, impacting all product engineering efforts.
Key projects include improving automated testing infrastructure, modernizing testing tools, and addressing scalability challenges.
The role requires leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders and supporting design reviews to help engineers make informed trade-offs.

Requirements:

Candidates must have at least 5 years of industry experience.
Experience with complex infrastructure challenges related to scale, reliability, and performance is required.
Previous technical leadership roles for teams or complex projects are necessary.
An interest in learning about security or prior experience in the security space is preferred.
Candidates should be able to work collaboratively with engineers to impact customer security positively.
