Remote Senior Backend Software Engineer

Description:

• Develop the backend infrastructure for the core Pano application that allows customers to view cameras, investigate smoke, and respond to fires
• Create web backend services in Java that can scale with the company's growth, be supportable, and extensible
• Design and implement REST API and Multi-threaded Image Processing Pipeline
• Collaborate with partners to build core product features meeting security, privacy, and business requirements
• Participate in all phases of the software development process, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Work with product management, engineering, and quality teams to develop innovative solutions

Requirements:

• 7+ years of object-oriented software experience with a BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience
• Experience working with cloud service providers
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Google Cloud
  • Knowledge of containerization including Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with REST APIs in Java and JAX-RS
  • Proficiency with databases like PostgreSQL
  • Excellent communication skills

Benefits:

• Salary range of $160,000 - $195,000 a year, with the final offer based on qualifications, education, experience, skills, and location
