Remote Senior Big Data Engineer

• H1 is seeking a Senior Big Data Engineer to work remotely in the US.
• The mission of H1 is to provide a platform that optimally informs doctor interactions globally, promoting health equity and trust in healthcare systems.
• The Data Engineering team is responsible for developing and delivering data from thousands of sources to create a comprehensive knowledge base of healthcare stakeholders.
• As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the technical strategy and architecture of the Real World Evidence (RWE) product.
• You will work independently, resolving complex technical challenges with minimal oversight and focusing on high-priority projects that deliver significant end-user impact.
• Responsibilities include owning the technical direction of the RWE team, representing RWE data in customer engagements, mentoring other engineers, and advocating for best practices and technical excellence.
• You will collaborate cross-functionally to understand end-user needs and ensure projects deliver meaningful outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of building and maintaining scalable data systems and pipelines.
• At least 5 years of experience with big data tools such as Apache Spark and Hadoop, particularly on AWS EMR, with hands-on experience in tools like Apache Spark and Hudi/Delta Lake.
• Proficiency in databases like PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with software management tools such as Git, JIRA, and CircleCI.
• Experience in Developer Operations, specifically deploying to systems like AWS EMR and Kubernetes.
• Strong problem-solving skills, clear communication abilities, and a commitment to data quality and security.
