Description:
H1 is seeking a Senior Big Data Engineer to work remotely in the US.
The mission of H1 is to provide a platform that optimally informs doctor interactions globally, promoting health equity and trust in healthcare systems.
The Data Engineering team is responsible for developing and delivering data from thousands of sources to create a comprehensive knowledge base of healthcare stakeholders.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the technical strategy and architecture of the Real World Evidence (RWE) product.
You will work independently, resolving complex technical challenges with minimal oversight and focusing on high-priority projects that deliver significant end-user impact.
Responsibilities include owning the technical direction of the RWE team, representing RWE data in customer engagements, mentoring other engineers, and advocating for best practices and technical excellence.
You will collaborate cross-functionally to understand end-user needs and ensure projects deliver meaningful outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of building and maintaining scalable data systems and pipelines.
At least 5 years of experience with big data tools such as Apache Spark and Hadoop, particularly on AWS EMR, with hands-on experience in tools like Apache Spark and Hudi/Delta Lake.
Proficiency in databases like PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with software management tools such as Git, JIRA, and CircleCI.
Experience in Developer Operations, specifically deploying to systems like AWS EMR and Kubernetes.
Strong problem-solving skills, clear communication abilities, and a commitment to data quality and security.
