Description:

Base is seeking a Senior Blockchain Security Engineer to help bring a million developers and a billion users onchain.
The role involves developing onchain security strategies, performing security assessments, and threat modeling of various blockchain protocols.
The engineer will lead proactive identification of top onchain security risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Responsibilities include providing expert technical guidance, establishing best practices, and mentoring team members.
The position requires engagement with product and engineering teams to adopt security measures and set industry standards.

Requirements:

Candidates must have extensive knowledge of onchain ecosystems, including L1 and L2 networks and DeFi protocols.
A strong ability to identify vulnerabilities at the machine, transaction, and business logic levels in smart contracts and protocol infrastructure is essential.
A minimum of 3 years of smart contract auditing experience and leadership in auditing complex protocols is required.
A passion for continuous learning in the rapidly changing crypto space is necessary.
Candidates should be enthusiastic about mentoring blockchain security engineers and open to learning from their team.
Clear, direct, and kind communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential.
Experience in building relationships with security, product, and engineering teams is required.
The ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with short-term tactical planning is important.

The target annual salary for this position ranges from $186,065 to $218,900 USD, depending on work location.
