The position is for a Senior Business Intelligence Data Engineer in North America, focusing on creating reliable data assets and unified metrics to support strategic decisions and sustainable growth.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and optimizing data warehouse models and ETL processes, collaborating with analysts and stakeholders, and advocating for data management and governance principles.
The role involves extracting data from various sources, defining requirements, creating data warehouse assets for self-service analytics, writing complex SQL queries, and assisting analysts with performance optimization.
This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates in the Eastern time zone, but open to all time zones in the USA.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in data engineering and data warehouse/lake design, specifically with Snowflake, dbt, AWS, Terraform, Dagster, and FiveTran or equivalents.
Experience in managing stakeholder relationships, gathering requirements, and balancing tactical and strategic aspects of data lakehouse evolution is required.
A deep understanding of ETL and data modeling concepts is necessary, along with proficiency in SQL, Iceberg, dbt, Python, Spark, and TypeScript being a plus.
Candidates should have experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, and Sagemaker, and integrating them with Snowflake.
Familiarity with DataOps/DevSecOps principles and practices, including Github Actions, Terraform Cloud, and CDK, is required.
A minimum of 2 years of experience with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Online environments is necessary, with bonus points for experience with Snowflake alongside Tableau.
Candidates should thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment and preferably hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in computer science, physics, math, or a related field.
