Remote Senior Cloud Architect

Description:

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Architect to join the Kyivstar.Tech team.
• The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, deploying, and managing hybrid cloud infrastructure, with a deep understanding of AWS (Amazon Web Services) and VMware Cloud Foundation.
• This is a leadership role, where you will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
• You will lead the design and implementation of AWS and VMware Cloud Foundation-based cloud infrastructures, ensuring they align with business goals and security requirements.
• You will oversee the management, monitoring, and optimization of cloud resources across multiple environments (production, staging, and development).
• You will develop and drive cloud adoption strategies for the organization, ensuring a smooth and cost-effective migration from on-premises to the cloud.
• You will provide expert-level consultation and architecture guidance on cloud infrastructure, systems, and applications, ensuring best practices are followed.
• You will design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or VMware Aria Automation.
• You will drive the automation of deployment pipelines and cloud operations.
• You will implement cost optimization strategies by optimizing cloud resources, recommending efficient architectures, and ensuring resource utilization.
• You will implement robust security controls, policies, and best practices for cloud environments.
• You will ensure cloud solutions are compliant with industry standards and regulations.
• You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver cloud-based solutions that meet organizational needs.
• You will mentor developers and DevOps teams and provide guidance to other teams on cloud technologies, best practices, and tools.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years working in cloud architecture and administration (AWS, VMware) is required.
• Experience managing applications in hybrid cloud environments (AWS and VMware) is necessary.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or VMware Aria Automation is essential.
• Extensive experience with VMware Cloud Foundation, including vSphere, vCenter, NSX, vSAN, and VMware Cloud on AWS is required.
• A good understanding of Data Security on Cloud-based applications is needed.
• A strong understanding of networking concepts (VPC, VPN, Direct Connect, load balancing) and cloud security best practices (IAM, security groups, encryption, etc.) is necessary.
• Experience in building CI/CD pipelines for large scale applications on AWS and on-premises is required.
• A background in redefining applications into cloud-native environments is essential.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is necessary.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Strong presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences are necessary.
• A conversational English level (B2+) is required.
• The candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with teams, some of which may be geographically distributed.
