Description:
The Senior Cloud Architect will develop, implement, and manage a multi-tenant Cloud strategy for the Managed Services offering.
This role involves creating cloud reference architectures for various deployment topologies.
The architect will document architectural guiding principles and standardize specifications for the managed services offering.
Responsibilities include assessing, designing, implementing, automating, and documenting security solutions and processes to meet compliance requirements.
The position requires partnering with Security Operations teams to define and implement best practices around Cloud security.
The architect will work with key stakeholders to develop baseline cloud, container, and application security standards.
The role includes developing cost/utilization tracking and attribution processes for all Cloud Service Providers.
The architect will maintain documentation for cloud security systems and procedures.
The position involves driving proof of concepts and technology research while evaluating, selecting, and integrating innovative technologies.
The architect will generate detailed documentation including conceptual design, logical design, physical design, bill of materials, as-built diagrams, knowledge transfer materials, FAQs, and transition to operations needs.
Acting as a subject matter expert, the architect will deliver projects from initiation to successful implementation.
The role includes leading C-Level/Executive briefing presentations covering roadmap direction, technology considerations, and fit with client needs in the context of business and IT objectives.
The architect will evangelize Cloud technology vision and strategy, solutions, and best practices with senior management and other groups within the company.
Providing multi-cloud thought leadership and collaborating with the Operations team to remove technical roadblocks is essential.
The architect is accountable for ensuring accurate reporting of working hours in Netsuite and tracking billable hours as a critical aspect of project management and delivery.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Solutions Architect and securing cloud solutions (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) is required.
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering, or another IT-related program is necessary.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience identifying security issues, risks, and developing risk mitigation plans to meet audit requirements, with a good understanding of cloud security threats.
Deep experience with hyperscalers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and interconnect/colo players is essential.
Solid experience with application architectures and an effective understanding of how to move and/or refactor in the cloud is required.
Experience in communicating complex technical product and service architectures at both the C-suite level and the deep technical expert level is necessary.
A deep understanding of cloud best practices and formal certification in one of the big three cloud technologies (Azure Security Certification) is required.
Extensive experience in securing operating systems, firewalls, networks, systems, databases, and application architectures is necessary.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and their impact on design considerations (HIPAA, ISO, HITRUST) is required.
Experience with antivirus, IDS/IPS, WAFs, NSG, Express route, and Application Firewalls is essential.
Proficiency in networking and security is required.
Advanced expertise in common cloud services (Databases, Containers, Compute, Storage, Serverless) is necessary.
Experience in performance management of database engines (MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB, ElasticSearch) is required.
Experience working with Identity protocols (PIM, OAuth/OpenID) and Threat modeling is necessary.
Knowledge of data center architecture and components such as routing and switching technologies is required.
Candidates should be highly responsive with a customer-first mindset and be highly self-motivated and detail-oriented.
The ability to prioritize and track multiple projects in parallel is essential.
Team-oriented skills and the ability to work within a collaborative environment are necessary.
Candidates must act as trusted advisors with exceptional technical vision, knowledge, and judgment in the multi-cloud, hybrid-IT space.
Creative problem-solving and innovation skills are required.
The capability to lead and mentor others is necessary.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
Strong interpersonal networking abilities within the organization and with external customers are required.
