Description:
The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for configuring and managing cloud-native networking services provided by cloud providers such as AWS VPC, Google VPC, or Azure Virtual Network.
This role involves designing network topologies and architectures to meet the organization’s requirements for scalability, performance, and security.
The engineer will implement cloud network security best practices, including network segmentation, access control, and encryption.
They will design and implement redundancy and failover mechanisms to ensure high availability in the cloud.
The position requires configuring and troubleshooting Application and Network Load balancers.
The engineer will use scripting tools like Python, Ansible, and Bash to automate daily tasks.
They will manage and maintain different types of servers, including Linux with distros like amazonlinux and centos.
The role includes being part of an on-call rotation with occasional night and weekend work required.
Requirements:
Candidates must have the ability to understand software and cloud platforms from the ground up and become a subject matter expert on it, with the ability to troubleshoot, configure, and repair the platform.
They should be able to make relevant, specific, and high-value recommendations to the design or implementation of a platform, including automation, features, security, and manageability.
Self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.
Candidates should demonstrate ownership of problems and a proactive approach to solving them.
A passion for technology and a commitment to researching new and emerging solutions is required.
Candidates must be resourceful and excited to uncover innovative solutions and teach themselves new skills when needed.
A minimum of five (5) years of work experience in maintaining infrastructure, firewalls, load balancers, servers, monitoring systems, and private cloud systems is required.
Understanding of cloud services, networking concepts, and cloud security best practices is necessary.
Experience with Docker, container orchestration technologies, monitoring tools, log management systems, and infrastructure as code is essential.
Knowledge of telephony infrastructure and working experience in Istio is a plus.
