Description:

  • The Senior Cloud Engineer will be a key technical leader within the GridUnity team, focusing on the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable cloud infrastructure.
  • This role involves collaborating with a cross-functional team of engineers and product managers to architect and support high-scale data ingestion.
  • Responsibilities include designing, developing, and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security.
  • The engineer will implement and manage cloud solutions using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, ensuring seamless integration with data platforms.
  • Automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is required.
  • Development of backend services using Node.js/TypeScript to ensure high availability and performance is expected.
  • The role includes leading architectural discussions and decision-making for cloud-native applications, data pipelines, and microservices.
  • Enhancing system observability, monitoring, and alerting to proactively identify and resolve performance and reliability issues is part of the job.
  • The engineer will advocate for best practices in cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization.
  • Mentoring peers, participating in technical design reviews, and driving innovation within the cloud engineering space are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, software development, or DevOps, with expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes is required.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi is necessary.
  • Expertise in serverless architectures, microservices, and event-driven systems is expected.
  • Solid programming experience with Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or Golang is required.
  • A deep understanding of networking, security, and cloud governance best practices is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog), and logging solutions (ELK stack, CloudWatch, etc.) is needed.
  • Experience managing relational (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB) databases is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex technical challenges into actionable solutions are necessary.
  • A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing is essential.
  • Nice to have: Experience with multi-cloud environments, familiarity with machine learning workflows and big data processing, and experience with hybrid cloud or edge computing architectures.
