Description:
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer who can provide scalable solutions and work independently while being a good team player.
This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, administering, monitoring, troubleshooting, automation, and configuration of Windows/VMware/Linux servers in AWS and on-premises.
The role includes managing and resolving service requests via the ServiceNow ticketing system and collaborating closely with internal teams such as DevSecOps, Infrastructure, Networking, UC, and AV, as well as supporting other customers like Information Security.
Responsibilities include managing, coordinating, and implementing software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes on Linux/Windows/ESXi systems using tools like SCCM, Satellite, and Spacewalk.
The engineer will maintain OS configuration using Configuration Management tools like Ansible and support file/printer servers while managing AD resource permissions.
They will also manage external digital certificate requests and external DNS providers, participate in Data Center consolidation, and migration to the cloud (AWS).
The role requires providing hands-on operational support for Firewalls, Routers, Switches, and associated security-related devices, investigating and resolving network and security incidents, and performing fault finding and analysis of logging information for reporting performance exceptions.
Proactive monitoring of system performance and capacity planning is essential, along with creating and modifying scripts or applications to perform tasks.
The engineer will provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment, collaborate with other teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes, and design and document SOPs for system administration activities.
Maintaining best practices on managing systems and services across all environments is crucial, and participation in periodic on-call rotation is required.
The individual must be able to work with minimal supervision, be self-motivated, and able to define, plan, and implement long-term goals, tasks, and projects.
Requirements:
A BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
A good understanding of AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, Route53, and Kubernetes is necessary.
Candidates should have 7+ years of Windows/VMware/Linux systems administration experience.
Scripting skills are required, with proficiency in at least two typical scripting languages (shell/bash, PowerShell, Perl, Python, Ruby).
Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Satellite, and Spacewalk is essential.
Experience in designing and maintaining AWS-based systems is required, along with experience configuring Linux/Windows guests in a VMware ESXi environment.
Experience supporting Microsoft Exchange, preferably in a hybrid environment, is necessary.
A strong understanding of Active Directory and related technologies, especially DNS and DHCP, is required.
Candidates should have a thorough understanding and management of Microsoft applications such as ADFS, PKI, SCOM, KMS, MBAM, RDS, IIS, and SQL.
2+ years of Office 365 experience, including migrations from on-premises, is highly desired.
A full understanding of Microsoft Office 365 administration and experience supporting complex environments with an emphasis on Exchange and SharePoint Online is required.
In-depth knowledge related to Office 365 applications and features, including Azure Directory, is necessary.
Excellent problem-solving, multitasking, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail are required to work in this challenging and dynamic environment.
Windows client OS image building experience (preferably using MDT) is a plus, as is SCCM experience for patch management, application deployment, and OS deployment.
Knowledge of SSO integration between Office 365 and major SSO providers like Okta is beneficial.
A good understanding of Cisco switches, DMVPN, and Palo Alto Network firewall is required.
Candidates should be comfortable working with third parties and managed service providers.
Strong knowledge related to email security (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC) and security best practices in general, as well as mail client/server troubleshooting, is essential.
Strong documentation skills, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with accuracy and attention to detail, are required.
Very strong interpersonal, customer service, result-oriented, and team-building skills are essential.
Jamf experience for MACs management is a plus, and any Linux (RHCT, RHCE, and LPIC), AWS certifications, or Office 365 MCSA will be advantageous.
