  • Responsibilities include building and maintaining client relationships, providing technical leadership, collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements, and assisting in project planning.
  • The Senior Cloud Engineer will participate in sprint planning activities, design and implement technical solutions, create technical design documents, and write testable, high-performance code for CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code frameworks.

  • Hands-on experience with operating system platform configuration, tuning, and administration for Linux or Windows is required, with a preference for both.
  • A strong understanding of application performance and design best practices is necessary to ensure applications are highly available, performant, scalable, and secure.
  • High proficiency with open-source tools, including Hashicorp solutions such as Terraform, Packer, and Vault, is essential.
  • Proficiency in at least one popular programming language (e.g., Go, Java, Python, Ruby, Rust) is required.
  • Candidates should have a solid understanding of testing techniques and frameworks, including experience in writing test suites, mocks, and fixtures.
  • The ability to write scripts for maintenance, automation, and data processing using scripting languages such as Bash, Groovy, JavaScript, Perl, PHP, PowerShell, or R is necessary.
  • Experience with common configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications, ideally with hands-on experience using Kubernetes and tools like Helm, is essential.
  • Exposure to Anthos is a plus, as is experience with common CI/CD tools and familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Candidates should have experience with stream-processing platforms and services, such as Kafka and Cloud Pub/Sub, and a solid understanding of data security principles.
  • Experience with on-premise architectures and visualization applications such as vCenter is required, and experience in MLOps is a plus.

Benefits:

  • Pythian offers a competitive total rewards and salary package, along with the opportunity to take a day off to volunteer for a favorite charity.
  • Employees can work flexibly from home without a daily travel requirement to an office, provided they have a stable internet connection.
  • The company promotes collaboration with some of the best and brightest in the industry.
  • A substantial training allowance is provided for skill development, along with opportunities for professional development days and certifications.
  • Pythian supplies all necessary equipment for remote work, including a laptop with the employee's choice of operating system and an annual budget to personalize the workspace.
