Description:
The Senior Cloud Engineer will be a key technical leader within the GridUnity team, focusing on the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable cloud infrastructure.
This role involves collaborating with a cross-functional team of engineers and product managers to architect and support high-scale data ingestion.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security.
The engineer will implement and manage cloud solutions using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, ensuring seamless integration with data platforms.
Automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is required.
Development of backend services using Node.js/TypeScript to ensure high availability and performance is expected.
The role includes leading architectural discussions and decision-making for cloud-native applications, data pipelines, and microservices.
Enhancing system observability, monitoring, and alerting to proactively identify and resolve performance and reliability issues is part of the job.
The engineer will advocate for best practices in cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization.
Mentoring peers, participating in technical design reviews, and driving innovation within the cloud engineering space are also key aspects of the role.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, software development, or DevOps, with expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Strong experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes is required.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi is necessary.
Expertise in serverless architectures, microservices, and event-driven systems is expected.
Solid programming experience with Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or Golang is required.
A deep understanding of networking, security, and cloud governance best practices is essential.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog), and logging solutions (ELK stack, CloudWatch, etc.) is needed.
Experience managing relational (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB) databases is required.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex technical challenges into actionable solutions are necessary.
A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing is essential.
Nice to have: Experience with multi-cloud environments, familiarity with machine learning workflows and big data processing, and experience with hybrid cloud or edge computing architectures.
