Description:
BlueFlag is seeking an ambitious, senior-level Cloud Engineer to join their dynamic team.
This opportunity is remote and involves working on cloud infrastructure initiatives for large enterprise environments.
The role includes architecting, implementing, and optimizing cloud solutions, particularly for a data and analytics platform for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Responsibilities include designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure across multiple providers, focusing on Azure technologies.
The engineer will deliver data-lake-based integration and analysis services to support business intelligence, data science, and machine learning efforts.
The position requires spearheading the implementation of infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform to enhance automation and efficiency.
The engineer will optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, and monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues.
Implementing robust security measures to protect cloud-based applications and data is essential.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams is necessary to ensure seamless deployment and operation of cloud applications.
The engineer will lead architecture discussions with clients and team members, clearly articulating complex solutions.
Contributing to business development activities by crafting innovative cloud engineering solutions for proposals is expected.
Staying updated with the latest cloud technologies and best practices is crucial.
Requirements:
Expert-level proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code concepts is required.
Extensive knowledge of Azure technologies is necessary.
Candidates must adhere to general cloud engineering best practices.
Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, is essential.
Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or PowerShell for process automation is required.
Experience with DevOps practices and tools, particularly CI/CD processes, is necessary.
Candidates should have experience with monitoring and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are required.
The ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams is essential.
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering or related fields.
US Citizenship is required, and candidates must be able to obtain a public trust clearance and be eligible to work in the United States.
