Description:
ThoughtExchange is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their remote team in Canada.
The role involves scaling cloud operations and enhancing platform security while collaborating with a passionate Software Engineering team.
Responsibilities include designing, automating, and improving the software delivery platform.
The engineer will lead initiatives that adhere to best practices in infrastructure, automation, security, and observability.
The position requires designing and scaling resilient backend cloud infrastructure to support the growing platform.
The engineer will work with other engineers and leaders to create and implement an actionable technical roadmap.
Participation in discussions, stand-ups, and team meetings is expected to foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
The role includes mentoring junior team members and maintaining a respectful remote work culture.
The engineer will be part of an on-call rotation and support the company's anti-racism and diversity, equity, and inclusion (ADEI) initiatives.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of work experience in Cloud Infrastructure or DevOps.
A minimum of 6 months of experience in application programming or software development is required.
Proficiency in Linux system administration is necessary.
Strong expertise in programming languages such as Python and Bash is essential.
A deep understanding of cloud concepts and providers, particularly AWS, is required.
Hands-on experience with container and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is needed.
Candidates should possess strong problem diagnosis skills and the ability to collaborate on solutions.
Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (IAC) such as Ansible, Packer, and Terraform is required.
Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools, as well as system monitoring tools (e.g., Sentry, Scalyr, Datadog), is necessary.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently and within a team is essential for success.
