Description:
Tala is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and applications on AWS and GCP public cloud environments using a DevOps mindset.
The role involves providing technical leadership to the team in driving automation of infrastructure and platform services in Public Clouds (AWS, GCP, and Azure) using Terraform and Ansible.
Responsibilities include architecting new solutions for infrastructure and platform, designing and managing Continuous Deployment using Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and Jenkins.
The engineer will monitor applications and services within the environments and participate in the on-call rotation to resolve issues and implement strategies to prevent future occurrences.
Setting up intelligent application performance alerts in Datadog and ElasticSearch to identify and fix issues before they impact business services and end-users is also part of the role.
The engineer is expected to learn about technologies outside of their realm of expertise that help drive the mission.
Requirements:
A strong understanding of how cloud-based web applications work, with an interest in measuring, analyzing, and improving distributed systems is required.
A B.S. Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of professional development training and experience is necessary.
Candidates should have 5 to 8 years of previous experience deploying and automating infrastructure in public cloud environments, using Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform or Ansible.
In-depth hands-on experience with at least one public Cloud platform (AWS or GCP) is essential.
Prior experience as a technical lead working closely with Product, Engineering, and SecOps on shift-left strategies, CI/CD tools, and solutions is required.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production is necessary.
Familiarity with Continuous Deployment tools such as Jenkins or ArgoCD is required.
Experience with Logging and Monitoring tools for SaaS such as Sumo, Splunk, and Datadog is essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document and explain technical details and concepts clearly and concisely, are required.
Flexibility to assist where needed across programs and teams is important.
Strong influence and teamwork skills, along with sound problem resolution, judgment, negotiating, and decision-making skills, are necessary.
Experience working effectively with global teams in multiple time zones is required.
