Description:
H2O.ai is seeking a Senior Customer Data Scientist to deliver data science and machine learning professional services to customers.
The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, preprocess, and analyze data to develop data-driven solutions.
Responsibilities include building custom data models, transformation, scorers/optimization loss functions/metrics to improve training performance for customer use cases.
The candidate will design and run training sessions for customers in data science concepts and using H2O products, catering to audiences with varying data science skills.
The role requires helping customers understand data science nuances, expert settings of H2O Driverless AI, and strategies for experiment tuning to improve model performance.
The candidate will also explain model performance, interpretability, and post-deployment monitoring concepts to ensure informed business decisions based on model predictions.
Participation in the development of ML solutions and AI applications for internal use is also expected.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, and AI is required.
Experience with H2O products, Python, and R for solving machine learning problems is preferred.
Knowledge of various machine learning techniques (supervised/unsupervised, clustering, decision trees, neural networks) and their practical applications is necessary.
Advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests) must be understood and applied.
Experience in statistical and data mining techniques such as GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, and social network analysis is required.
Proficiency in visualizing and presenting exploratory data analysis (EDA) to stakeholders using H2O Wave or other data visualization libraries is a plus.
Understanding of post-production model monitoring concepts and tools like H2O ML Ops or MLFlow is beneficial.
In-depth understanding of machine learning algorithms and experience applying Gen AI/ML to solve real-world problems, including end-to-end ML pipeline deployment, is essential.
Interest in Generative AI and Large Language Models, including prompt engineering and fine-tuning, is desired.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are necessary.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are required.
