Description:
NielsenIQ is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Network Engineer to enhance their Network Security technology domain.
The role involves maintaining current technologies and implementing advanced visibility and control of network traffic.
The engineer will support programs across all geographies and business units.
Responsibilities include ongoing maintenance and operations of current tools, modernizing various tools, and implementing new methods for visualizing egress and ingress traffic.
The position focuses primarily on NielsenIQ-hosted solutions and various tools across diverse cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
The engineer will collaborate closely with Enterprise IT, network infrastructure teams, and the Governance Risk and Controls team to deploy and operate various tools.
Key tasks include identifying opportunities to improve security controls, developing innovative network-based security solutions, and leading Proof of Concept activities.
The engineer will review network security requests, advise requestors, and drive best practices across global networks.
Documentation for internal teams and training materials for non-technical users will be created and updated.
The role includes providing secondary support for endpoint software issues and interfacing with vendors for product enhancements and issue resolution.
Mentorship and guidance will be provided to junior team members, and the engineer will act as an escalation point for high severity issues.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, Physics, or similar is desired; experience in government or military roles can be substituted.
Hands-on experience with network analysis and security tools, including packet capture, firewalls, web application firewalls, and DNS.
Proficiency with tools like F5 WAF, Azure WAF, Defender Network Protection, and ZScaler is required.
An expert-level understanding of the OSI model is necessary.
Fundamental knowledge of endpoint security tools and their role in defense-in-depth is essential.
The ability to support incident response teams and participate in ongoing incident response is required.
Knowledge of hacking techniques, malicious actors, and the ability to translate intelligence into action is desirable.
Demonstrated experience with change management in enterprise production environments is needed.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python is required.
The ability to manipulate large datasets using tools like Excel, PowerBI, and SQL is necessary.
Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and NIST CSF frameworks is preferred.
A self-starter attitude and enthusiasm for technology and security are essential.
