The Senior Data & Analytics Engineer will design and implement scalable data architectures for SaaS platforms in both single-tenant and multi-tenant environments.
This role will leverage the AWS Data Engineering stack, Postgres, and advanced analytics processing techniques, including the creation of materialized views for high-volume data analytics.
Responsibilities include building a robust and scalable data platform, optimizing materialized views, developing data migration scripts, and writing clean code in Python, Java, or Go.
The engineer will process large-scale datasets, optimize Postgres databases, implement best practices for scaling analytics solutions, and ensure data integrity and consistency.
The position requires collaboration with product, engineering, and data science teams to align platform capabilities with analytics and machine learning requirements.
The role reports to the Director of Engineering & Tech and is crucial for shaping the future of climate-tech SaaS products.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field is required.
Candidates should have 5 to 8 years of extensive experience as a Data and Analytics engineer, specifically in building data platforms for SaaS applications and large-scale data processing workflows.
Experience in database migration projects and the build or migration of multi-tenant database projects is essential.
Deep competence in Python scripting for writing ETL pipelines and automating AWS tasks is required.
Proficiency in Java or Go for building high-performance, scalable tools is necessary.
Candidates must have expertise in data storage and management using AWS RDS (Postgres), S3, and Document DB.
A strong understanding of Postgres database architecture, including indexes, partitioning, and query optimization, is required.
Advanced SQL skills for designing complex queries for materialized views are necessary.
Experience with AWS Glue, Lambda, Step functions, and AWS data migration service is required.
Candidates should have deep competence in data processing and analytics using AWS Athena and AWS Redshift.
Familiarity with security and monitoring using AWS IAM, AWS CloudWatch, and AWS CloudTrail is essential.
Experience in design mapping between MongoDB’s flexible schema and Postgres' relational schema is preferred.
Proven experience with scalable, large data sets and high-performance SaaS applications is required.
Strong problem-solving skills, excellent programming skills, and a collaborative team player attitude are essential.
