Description:
Tactiq is a software solutions leader in the direct store delivery (DSD) industry, based in Richmond, Virginia.
The Senior Data Architect will design and implement enterprise-wide data strategies that align with business goals.
This role involves managing the agile development and automated deployment of data engineering assets.
The Senior Data Architect will ensure the smooth operation of the data environment and collaborate with engineers, QA, DevOps, and support teams.
Responsibilities include developing data architecture strategies, partnering with C-level executives, evaluating data technologies, leading metadata management, and implementing best practices for data management.
The role requires analyzing business needs, designing scalable data pipelines, ensuring data integrity and security, overseeing database administration, and mentoring junior engineers.
The position also involves developing data engineering frameworks, monitoring data systems, supporting analytics teams, optimizing SQL and ETL performance, and conducting ad hoc analysis.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred, but equivalent experience is also considered.
Demonstrated experience in data architecture is necessary, with previous experience in a senior or lead role.
Expertise in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) is required.
Strong skills in database administration, advanced SQL, metadata management, and data governance are essential.
Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT tools is needed.
Knowledge of data science concepts and cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, GCP) is important.
Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences are required.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary.
Preferred qualifications include proficiency in Python or another programming language, relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP, AWS Certified Data Analytics), and familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance.
