Remote Senior Data Developer

Description:

• Upgrade is seeking a Senior Data Developer to design, architect, and maintain the company's Data Warehouse (DW) to support data and analytical needs for their financial products.
• The role involves collaborating with various teams such as Data Platform, Backend, TechOps, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Risk Teams.
• This is a fully remote position in Canada.
• Responsibilities include gaining a deep understanding of the business, building data pipelines, setting up tools for effective data management, and owning the design and distribution of key data and business metrics and reports.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of recent hands-on experience writing complex SQL queries on large data sets in a data warehousing environment.
• 2+ years of experience working with datasets/dataframes in Python (pandas / numpy / dask).
• Experience with columnar database table design and building data pipelines using Redshift and/or Snowflake.
• Familiarity with task orchestrators like Airflow/Google Dataflow/Luigi.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to troubleshoot and fix issues quickly in a fast-paced environment.
