Remote Senior Data Developer (Data Team)

Description:

• The role is for a Senior Data Developer within the Nielsen Marketing Cloud (NMC) team, based in Mexico City, Mexico.
• The primary responsibility is to design, build, and manage data architecture, working on various projects ranging from serverless applications to big data pipelines.
• The focus is on creating highly distributed, scalable, high-performing, and cost-effective systems while continuously seeking improvements.
• The team utilizes the latest cloud and data technologies and encourages experimentation with new tools and technologies.
• Candidates are encouraged to explore the systems developed by the team, including a system that processes 55TB of data per day on serverless architecture and a multi-petabyte data warehouse built using Spark and S3.

Requirements:

• A degree in computer science or an equivalent field is required.
• Candidates must have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in server-side development, having worked on several complex projects.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Scala, Spark, Python, and SQL is essential.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary for this position.
• Good English skills, both verbal and written, are required.
