Remote Senior Data & Dev/Ops Engineer

Description:

• cBEYONData is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data & Dev/Ops Engineer to support the Enterprise Data Analytics Platform development for a Federal customer.
• The role involves analyzing current data and system interfaces, building and maintaining data pipelines, developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and supporting IT modernization activities.
• Responsibilities include designing new solutions using Databricks (Python, Pyspark) to meet business functional requirements, modifying existing data model solutions, promoting code into production using Gitlab, defining test cases, and verifying test results.
• The engineer will also build data models and reports using datasets from ERPs and legacy systems.

Requirements:

• An active DoD Secret security clearance is required for this position.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is necessary.
• Candidates must have 6+ years of related work experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential.
• Hands-on development experience is required, depending on the level of the candidate.
• Proficiency in Python and Pyspark is mandatory.
• Experience working with Dev/Ops and CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab is required.
• Familiarity with Databricks, developing data pipelines, and workflow automation is necessary.
• Knowledge of database design and architecture, both relational and non-relational, is important.
• The ability to work cross-functionally and participate in discussions is required.
• Extensive knowledge of cloud architecture, particularly with commercial cloud vendors (AWS/Azure), is essential.
• Competence with software engineering tools and processes, including estimation, issue tracking, version control, and debugging, is necessary.
• Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks without supervision is required.
• Experience in knowledge sharing, such as code reviews and solid documentation, is essential.
• A driven, self-directed personality with a strong sense of mission and commitment to making a difference is necessary.
