Description:
The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with various departments to contribute to impactful business decisions and initiatives.
This role is part of a small, close-knit Data Engineering team within the broader Analytics team.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and managing robust data pipelines using Airflow, ensuring seamless integration and accessibility of data.
The engineer will contribute to the development of the data platform by building custom plugins and operators.
Management and optimization of cloud-based infrastructure, primarily using AWS services, is required.
The role involves implementing and managing infrastructure as code using Terraform.
The engineer will translate complex business needs into effective data architecture and workflows.
Responsibilities also include designing and maintaining data models that align with business requirements.
The use of SQL to build and optimize data models for analytics teams is essential.
Advocating for and implementing data governance best practices is a key responsibility.
The engineer will develop and enforce data quality checks and validation frameworks.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand and fulfill their data needs is crucial.
The role requires clear communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong project management skills are necessary to manage and prioritize workload effectively.
Senior-level professionals will lead data engineering projects and mentor team members.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles.
Proficiency in Python with the ability to write and maintain production-grade code is required.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and orchestration tools like Airflow is necessary.
Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform is essential.
Expertise in SQL and analytical data warehouses, preferably Snowflake, is required.
Knowledge of ETL/ELT best practices is necessary.
Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) AI systems is a plus.
Strong data modeling skills and experience in translating business requirements into scalable data solutions are required.
A deep understanding of data governance practices, including data quality frameworks, is essential.
Familiarity with defining and tracking metrics for system performance and cost-efficiency is necessary.
Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and business perspectives are required.
Experience working closely with business teams to identify requirements is essential.
Proven ability to manage and prioritize tasks and lead projects is necessary.
Senior-level professionals should demonstrate leadership in mentoring and guiding team members.
