Description:
Redwood Materials is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to assist in modeling and managing data assets within a data lake architecture.
The role involves overseeing the entire data lifecycle, from data ingestion to processing to consumption.
Responsibilities include building and managing a data lake in AWS, creating and maintaining data pipelines from various sources using PySpark and AWS Glue, and generating data sets to support different use cases.
The Senior Data Engineer will drive technical decisions on serving data consumers, leverage existing AWS architectures, and design new ones as necessary.
Operationalizing data workloads in AWS, automating pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and design appropriate data flows are also part of the role.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience developing data solutions in a modern cloud environment is necessary.
Proficiency in Python is essential.
Experience in authoring and maintaining ETL jobs, with PySpark experience being a plus, is required.
Familiarity with designing and interacting with relational and non-relational data stores is necessary.
Experience with the AWS ecosystem, Infrastructure-as-code methodologies, and CDK is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage production data workloads is a requirement for this position.
