Remote Senior Data Engineer

• The role involves building and pioneering in the technology space and solving complex business problems in a collaborative and iterative environment.
• As a Data Engineer, you will drive major transformations within worldwide financial services clients.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies.
• You will work with a team experienced in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems.
• The position requires utilizing programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, and working with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, as well as cloud-based data warehousing services like Databricks, Redshift, and Snowflake.
• You will perform unit tests and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality code.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in application development, including proficiency in Python, SQL, Scala, or Java.
• At least 5 years of experience with a public cloud platform such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is necessary.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with distributed data/computing tools like MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL is required.
• At least 3 years of experience working with real-time data and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Rabbit MQ is essential.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with NoSQL implementation, specifically with MongoDB or Cassandra, is required.
• At least 3 years of data platform experience, particularly with Databricks, is necessary.
• Experience with Agile engineering methodologies is required.
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux, including basic commands and shell scripting, is necessary.
