Remote Senior Data Engineer

Description:

• The Senior Data Engineer position at Postscript involves providing the company with top-notch data foundations to support various engineering and product initiatives.
• The role focuses on designing and constructing end-to-end data pipeline solutions, including data ingestion, propagation, persistence, and services to aid both the product and internal BI organization.
• Responsibilities include designing and building scalable data systems, architecting cloud-native data solutions in AWS, writing high-quality code, building services for cross-domain data support, advising the team on Data Engineering best practices, and mentoring fellow engineers.
• The ideal candidate should be a polyglot technologist passionate about data problems at scale, with a proven track record in designing and implementing complex data systems, experience in AWS environment, proficiency in writing production code (preferably in Python or Go), familiarity with various data persistence technologies, expertise in event-driven systems, and comfort with infrastructure and infrastructure as code technologies.

Requirements:

• Must be a polyglot technologist with a proven track record in designing and implementing complex data systems.
• Experience in building data engineering solutions in an AWS environment and working with various AWS services.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in writing high-quality production code, preferably in Python or Go.
• Broad experience with data persistence technologies and the ability to select the right tool for the job.
• Proficiency in event-driven systems and technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure and infrastructure as code technologies like Terraform.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and problem-solving.
