Remote Senior Data Engineer

Description:

• Norma, a cutting-edge company, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to oversee a critical project involving data engineering efforts.
• Responsibilities include managing data integrity in Snowflake, optimizing data processes, maintaining data flow, and potentially leading a team of Data Engineers.
• Tasks involve overseeing data operations, maintaining the data pipeline for the desktop BI tool, managing ETL processes using tools like Airbyte, and collaborating with the backend team.
• The role also includes developing data validation mechanisms, leading cost optimization initiatives, establishing monitoring mechanisms, and aligning data outputs with business objectives.

Requirements:

• Proven experience handling large data volumes and transferring efficiently to serving layers.
• Experience with ETL tools like Airbyte or Fivetran, moving data from analytical to transactional databases.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Data Lakes such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Strong SQL proficiency and database structure knowledge.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and perform root cause analysis on data processes.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with restaurant POS systems, ERP systems, data security best practices, and familiarity with Thoughtspot.
