The role of Senior Data Engineer is fully remote, allowing for work from anywhere.
The engineer will be responsible for building systems that connect raw business data to reliable data products.
The position requires a strong sense of ownership and the ability to take projects from inception to release.
The engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to create aggregated datasets, dashboards, and APIs.
Responsibilities include architecting, implementing, and managing data pipelines, models, and ETLs.
The role involves identifying gaps and creating automated processes and tools for efficient data processing.
The engineer will contribute to data governance, metadata cataloging, and access control.
The position requires ownership of data intake, QA, and delivery processes.
The engineer will drive best-in-class technology frameworks and stay updated with technology trends.
Requirements:
Candidates must have advanced experience in building, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines and datasets.
Strong experience with relational databases and familiarity with various databases and data warehouses like Postgres and Snowflake is required.
The ability to perform root cause analysis on data and processes to answer business questions and identify improvement opportunities is essential.
Strong analytical skills related to unstructured datasets are necessary.
Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools, such as Airflow, is required.
Familiarity with cloud providers like Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure and their data services is needed.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, or Scala is required.
Knowledge of tools like DBT, Hex, Tableau, or similar is necessary.
Exposure to stream-processing systems like Beam, Spark Streaming, or Kafka Streams is preferred.
A minimum of four years of relevant industry experience with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products at scale is required.
