Description:

  • The role of Senior Data Engineer is fully remote, allowing for work from anywhere.
  • The engineer will be responsible for building systems that connect raw business data to reliable data products.
  • The position requires a strong sense of ownership and the ability to take projects from inception to release.
  • The engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to create aggregated datasets, dashboards, and APIs.
  • Responsibilities include architecting, implementing, and managing data pipelines, models, and ETLs.
  • The role involves identifying gaps and creating automated processes and tools for efficient data processing.
  • The engineer will contribute to data governance, metadata cataloging, and access control.
  • The position requires ownership of data intake, QA, and delivery processes.
  • The engineer will drive best-in-class technology frameworks and stay updated with technology trends.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have advanced experience in building, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines and datasets.
  • Strong experience with relational databases and familiarity with various databases and data warehouses like Postgres and Snowflake is required.
  • The ability to perform root cause analysis on data and processes to answer business questions and identify improvement opportunities is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills related to unstructured datasets are necessary.
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools, such as Airflow, is required.
  • Familiarity with cloud providers like Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure and their data services is needed.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, or Scala is required.
  • Knowledge of tools like DBT, Hex, Tableau, or similar is necessary.
  • Exposure to stream-processing systems like Beam, Spark Streaming, or Kafka Streams is preferred.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant industry experience with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products at scale is required.
