Description:

Mozilla Corporation is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Analytics Engineering team, focusing on data modeling to support data-informed decisions across the organization.
The role involves maintaining and improving the data platform, including recent enhancements like a data catalog and data quality checks.
Responsibilities include collaborating with data scientists to design data models, maintaining scalable data models and ETL pipelines, improving data ingestion and transformation infrastructure, and establishing best practices for data governance.
The position is remote and available to candidates in Canada.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data engineering.
Proficiency in SQL and Python is required.
Demonstrated experience in designing data models for business activities is essential.
Strong software engineering fundamentals, including modularity, abstraction, data structures, and algorithms, are necessary.
Ability to work collaboratively with a distributed team and strong communication skills are required.
Proficiency in one or more areas such as using data for decision-making, designing flexible data models, recommending new data collection methods, and experience with data infrastructure and ETL/ELT pipelines is preferred.
Experience with highly scalable distributed systems on cloud providers like Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
