GameChanger is a remote-first tech company based in New York City, focused on enhancing youth sports experiences.
The company is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to evolve their data tooling and platform to support growth.
The role involves transforming data pipelines and the data warehouse to improve resilience, extensibility, and maintainability.
The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with various stakeholders to understand their needs and build systems that enhance operational efficiencies and analytic insights.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining scalable data platforms, architecting high-volume data pipelines, improving system performance, collaborating with data producers and consumers, optimizing data pipelines, troubleshooting complex problems, ensuring system security and data privacy compliance, and sharing knowledge through documentation and mentoring.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of software development experience, preferably as a data or backend engineer.
Expertise in Python for data processing is required.
Proficiency with containers and orchestration tools, preferably Airflow, is necessary.
Experience administering Kafka on AWS and implementing patterns for producers/consumers is essential.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform is required.
Experience with SQL and cloud data warehousing in Snowflake or BigQuery is necessary.
Candidates should be familiar with cloud computing services such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
A drive to help others learn and improve as engineers is required.
